Minor Injured in Traffic Accident

A 10-year-old St. Thomas girl was injured just before 7:30 a.m. Tuesday iwhen she was struck by a pickup truck near a school bus shanty on the Emile Francis Memorial Drive, also known as Cassi Hill, the V.I. Police Department reported.

Traffic Investigation Bureau officers on St. Thomas are investigating the incident.

According to police, a 43-year-old man was operating a white Ford F250 truck which was traveling east when it struck the victim, who was running on the road in a northeasterly direction. The minor was taken to the Schneider Regional Medical Center for treatment of bruises to her head, hands, elbows and knees.

This case is still under investigation.
