On Thursday, April 25, the St. Thomas community was enjoying J'Ouvert when the celebration was shattered by gunshots which injured three people. Public safety officials immediately canceled the remainder of J'Ouvert.

St. Croix General Election Ballot Numbers

With the partisan primaries over and the ballots on St. Croix counted, with too few absentee ballots to change the results, the Election System of the U.S. Virgin Islands has announced the candidates and their ballot numbers for the Nov. 6 general election. Paper and absentee ballots are still being counted on St. Thomas, which had many more candidates vying in the partisan primaries than St. Croix.
