Electric Outage Scheduled Sunday Morning on St. Thomas

Electrical service on feeders 9A and 10A on St. Thomas will be interrupted Sunday while line personnel from the Water and Power Authority relocate poles and conductors, the utility announced.

The outage will be from 6 to 11 a.m. Sunday in Main and Back Streets, Gamble, Rejerrings, Nordsidevej, Kronprindsens and Prindsens Gades.

The work is scheduled for a total of five hours, but most areas on the designated feeders will not experience a service interruption for the entire time, according to WAPA's press release. Technicians will isolate sections of the feeders throughout the morning to accommodate the work and do not anticipate most areas being out for more than a total of one hour.

However, residents near the location of work, which is in the lot adjacent to PG Gas Station on Gasverts Gade, will experience an interruption for the full scheduled time.

WAPA reminded customers to protect appliances and electronics during the intermittent outages by turning them off from the power strip or unplugging them completely until service has been restored to their area.
