Police ID Victim of Tuesday Shooting

Detectives identified the body of the man found fatally shot Tuesday in Upper Hidden Valley as 38-year-old Victor Manuel Otano Beltre, a native of the Dominican Republic.

No Record of Guns Confiscated by DPNR Cop Accused of Drug Smuggling

DPNR Enforcement Officer Roberto Tapia testified in March that he regularly confiscated boaters’ firearms but DPNR has no records at all of any firearms confiscated by Tapia.

Family Month Celebrated on St. Thomas

 The Department of Human Services Division of Family Assistance will commemorate Family Month in October with a Family Fun Day from 3- 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 20, at Emille Griffith Park, St. Thomas.
The community is invited to enjoy the V.I. Bug Association exhibit, the V.I. Bike Club exhibit, fencing demonstrations, softball games, the Solberg Petting Zoo, a pee-wee vs. coed basketball game, the Ivanna Eudora Kean High School Dynamite Rays Percussion Ensemble and much more. Entry is free and refreshments will be on sale.
The public is encouraged to spend family time at Coral World Ocean Park and the Butterfly Farm each Sunday in October. Say the word family upon entry to enjoy the park for $3 per person.
