Lieutenant Governor Extends Condolences on the Passing of Guy H. Benjamin

Lt. Gov. Gregory R. Francis offered his deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Guy H. Benjamin, an educator, author and icon of the St. John and Virgin Islands community.
A lifelong educator, Mr. Benjamin used every opportunity to share the knowledge and experiences gained during his lifetime.   The first St. Johnian to graduate from the Charlotte Amalie High School on St. Thomas, he was a staunch advocate for St. John residents to have the same levels of access to higher education and  opportunities as their fellow Virgin Islanders.
“Mr. Benjamin’s life reflects his commitment to the Virgin Islands,” said Lt. Gov. Francis.  “On behalf of my wife, Cheryl, and the staff at the lieutenant governor’s office, I extend sincere condolences to all those who mourn the passing of this great man and native son of the Virgin Islands.”
