Seminar on Sports Psychology Will Be Held on St. Croix

Oct. 10, 2007 - The Association of Virgin Island Psychologists (AVIP) and the St. Croix Yacht Club invite mental health specialists, business leaders, sport professionals, coaches and recreational athletes to a professional development seminar entitled "On the Road to Peak Performance."
The seminar will be presented by Catherine Giraud, Ph.D., M.F.A., who holds a doctoral degree in psychology with a specialization in sports psychology. She has worked with world-class athletes and their coaches on promoting peak performance through a variety of proven psychological principles. Her upcoming presentation will focus on purposeful goal setting, strategies for improved concentration, overcoming negative and self-defeating mindsets, stress management and relaxation techniques.
The seminar will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Saturday, Oct. 13, at the St. Croix Yacht Club. The fee is $60. Students can attend at half-price, and lunch is available for $10. Mental health professionals can earn six continuing education credits for attending at a fee of $30.
