VING Recruiting and Retention Battalion Promotes Edwards to Highest Rank

The Virgin Islands National Guard Recruiting and Retention Battalion is scheduled to host a promotion ceremony at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 10, at the Lieutenant Colonel Leonard A. Jackson Readiness Center Classroom for Sgt. Maj. Delores English-Edwards.
Edwards, who just completed a year of schooling at the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy in Fort Bliss, Texas, will be promoted to the rank of command sergeant major.
Some of her past assignments include time spent as a guidance counselor at San Juan Military Processing Station to Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico, where she assisted prospective new enlistees as they transitioned to becoming members of the Virgin Islands Army National Guard. She also served as the non-commissioned officer-in-charge for the Rec. and Ret. BN/Recruit Sustainment Program. Edwards currently serves as the Rec. and Ret. BN command sergeant major.
Sgt. Maj. Edwards is an upstanding citizen of the community, born and raised on the island of St. Croix. She has been a member of the VING since 1976.
