G-Clef Music Academy Offers Tuition Free Summer Program

G-Clef Music Academyhas announced that 20 full scholarshipsare available to students who have need and are unable to pay the summer program tuition. The scholarships are made possible through a generous gift from the Virgin IslandsCouncil on the Arts (VICA)to establish their first “Summer Arts Residency Camp.” G-Clef Music Academy’s 2011 Summer Music Camp is being held June 13through Aug. 12,Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The camp is open for ages 5-13, and the campsite is located at 26A Contant. Interested parents should submit an application and a letter expressing need.
G-Clef Music Academywill teach sevendisciplines of music including piano, voice, violin, bass guitar, acoustic guitar, drums and steel pan. Camp sessions are designed for beginners and intermediate students. Students will also learn music theory, combine their talents for a summer band performance, enjoy lunch and snacks, and expand their musical knowledge through special workshops conducted by accomplished guest musicians. The 9-week campis being taught by music educators with 20 years of combined experience.
