Dr. King and STAR

Dear Source:
There are many worthy events territory wide in celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’ s birthday and I hope you might make every effort to attend them to make his birthday a day on, rather than a day off. In these difficult and challenging times we should all reflect what he has done for equal rights, social and economic justice for the poor/ middle class and speaking out against war before he was brutally assassinated.  I believe that today, more than ever, we should all ponder his message of hope.
Please join the St. Thomas Association of Road Runners (STAR) this Sunday, Jan. 15, in our continued support and funding for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Foundation (www.mlkmemorial.org) with their annual 5 K walk/run at Vitraco Park on St. Thomas. Registration begins at 6:45 am and the walk/ race start at 7:15.
STAR has been hosting this event for many years and we are very proud that last year his memorial was opened to the public on the national mall in Washington DC. The memorial to his life and times needs your continued support to remind us all of his dream while keeping it alive for generations to come. Thank you,
Jason Budsan
