CARIBBEANonlinemagazine has announced that it has established a $20,000 Creative Arts Scholarship for Caribbean students and residents who submit articles, photographs or videos that will appear in its publications. Submissions will be accepted through June 15, 2013. The magazine is published quarterly and is available online and can be viewed by all Internet connected devices – IPhones, android phones, digital tablets as well as computers.
To qualify, applicants must:
• Submit creative work to submitislandinfo@gmail.com
• Articles must be in unformatted word format, photos in JPEG, and
videos in standard HD format
• Submissions should be based on issue themes
• October Issue – Holidays and Island Traditions due Sept. 21
• January Issue – Island Style due Dec. 15
• April Issue – Don’t Stop the Carnival due March 15, 2013
Students and local island residents who wish to pursue further education in a creative discipline are encouraged to provide multiple works for submission. In order to be eligible for the scholarship, creative work must be accepted and published in the online magazine. The scholarship will be awarded by July 21, 2013, and the winner information will be published in the July issue, which will feature Nature and Ecotourism, and Celebrate Nature’s Bounty, focusing on the winners of the 2013 Caribbean Hotel and Tourism event – Taste of the Caribbean. The mission at CARIBBEANonlinemagazine is to promote the ”Caribbean Islands as One” and to provide a showcase for local creative talent.
