Innovative Launches New Directory Assistance Program

Innovative continues to upgrade the infrastructure of telecommunications in the territory and announced on Tuesday, as a part of the modernization plan, the conversion to a National Directory Assistance database.
Effective Nov. 15 at approximately 7 p.m., both telephone numbers 913 and 411 will be routed to national Directory Assistance, and local and national information can be obtained using 411. The rate charged for directory assistance is unchanged and is based on the requested listing. For example, local lookups remain at $.25, with the first five lookups each month remaining free. National lookups using 411 are $.85 and there are no complimentary options. With this new system, Virgin Islands customers will no longer need to dial the United States area code and 555-1212 to obtain a national number. Additionally, off-island consumers will have access to the territory’s directory listings.
When a customer calls 913 or 411, they will hear the following: “Innovative Directory Assistance,” followed by the recording, “What listing please?” Customers are to then follow the prompts to complete the listing process.
