Employees of Ritz-Carlton Make Donation to The United Way

For the fifth consecutive year, employees of The Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas, have donated to the United Way of St. Thomas and St. John, providing the charity with $11,900. The local, non-profit organization of health and human services helps to create healthier, more vibrant communities for families to live, work and raise their children.
“Giving back to the local community is an integral part of our culture at The Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas. I am very proud of our ladies and gentlemen for taking an active role in our community and truly making a positive impact for those around us,” said Marc Langevin, general manager of the hotel. “We are honored to support the important work that United Way carries out in St. Thomas and St. John every day to make our island stronger,” he said.
Donating to the United Way is one of the many ways The Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas contributes to the local community. Recently, Executive Chef Vincent Russo and Pastry Chef Kunal Chakrabarti volunteered at Gladys Abraham Elementary School, where they shared their knowledge as chefs with students in fourth through sixth grade; employees also volunteered at the Virgin Islands Special Olympics to cheer the Olympians. In addition, the resort’s employees also participate in The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, the Boy Scouts Blue Marlin Fishing Tournament, Reef Fest and environmental clean-up programs across St. Thomas.
