SBA and UVI Celebrate Small Business Week

May 26, 2009 - The Virgin Islands Small Business Development Center (VI SBDC), the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI), and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) celebrate Small Business Week from June 1-5, in collaboration with FirstBank, The Rotary Club of St. Croix-Mid Isle and the St. Thomas-St. John Chamber of Commerce. The theme for this year is "Meeting Challenges…Achieving Success."
FirstBank is the sponsor for the seminars: "Grow Your Business with Strong Credit and Good Planning" scheduled for Monday, June 1, at the SBDC Training Facility at Nisky Center on St. Thomas, and Wednesday, June 3, at the Training Center at Sunshine Mall on St. Croix. Both seminars are free of charge; however, pre-registration is required. The "Small Business Boot Camp – The Playbook for Success!" will be held June 1–2, on St. Croix and June 3-4, on St. Thomas. The cost of the boot camp is $198 per person for both days, and it includes a light breakfast and lunch. Seating is limited. The boot camps will be held in the SBDC training facility on each island. Pre-registration is required.
Small Business Week concludes with the Small Business Annual Awards Ceremonies. The ceremony on St. Croix will be held from noon to 2 p.m., on Thursday, June 4, at Gertrude's Restaurant in conjunction with The Rotary Club of St. Croix-Mid Isle. The ceremony on St. Thomas will be held from 5:30-8:30 p.m., on Friday, June 5, at the UVI Administration and Conference Center (Old Harvey Student Center) in conjunction with the St. Thomas-St. John Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours reception.
