On Thursday, April 25, the St. Thomas community was enjoying J'Ouvert when the celebration was shattered by gunshots which injured three people. Public safety officials immediately canceled the remainder of J'Ouvert.

Energy Office Makes Presentations at Business Expo

Oct. 30, 2008 - In an effort to help businesses cope with the ever-increasing costs of energy, the Virgin Islands Energy Office staff will conduct presentations at the St. Thomas-St. John Chamber of Commerce Business Expo, at 1:30 p.m., on Saturday, Nov. 1, in room 224 of the UVI Sports and Fitness Center.
Joseph Daniel, energy operations coordinator, will present "Energy Costs and Your Bottom Line," and Don Buchanan, media information specialist, will present "The Economics of Alternative Energy." Questions will be entertained after the presentations. VIEO will also have a table with informational materials in the exhibit hall.
