The fashion show will feature collections from international fashion designer Tracy Reese and Korto Momolu, a star from “Project Runway.” Top British menswear designer Andrew Buckler, along
with Cesar Galindo and Dominique Pearl from the Bravo TV hit reality show “The Fashion Show,” will headline the main event “Global Glamour,” which will take place at 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 23, at the MCM Center on the Antilles Campus. Roger Gary, Devon Scott and The Vessel by Lois Samuel along with Trinidad’s Claudia Pegus and two of the Virgin Islands very own talented top designers, Andre Etienne from USVI and Trefle Designs by Kristin Frazer of the BVI, will complete the lineup of designers who will
be showcased at the event. The main event will also feature international supermodels Sessilee Lopez, Italian Vogue covergirl Jourdan Dunn, Burberry campaign star Arlenis Sosa, face of Lancome, and a cast of models from top New York agencies including Ford, IMG, Elite, Supreme, Marilyn, DNA, Major, Muse, Next and Red. The show will also feature the Virgin Islands top aspiring models.
Local aspiring make-up artists, hair stylists, and manicurists will get the opportunity to be educated by the industries’ leading professionals at The Beauty and Hairstyling Workshop from 6-9 p.m. on July 20 at Palm Courts Harbourview. These sessions are being led by celebrity make-up artist Ashunta Sheriff, whose clients include, Beyonce, Jada Pinkett-Smith and Alicia Keys; Tippi Shorter, celebrity hairstylist to Jennifer Hudson, Queen Latifah and Rihanna; Myrdith Leon-McCormack, celebrity manicurist to Charlize Theron, Kate Hudson and Mary J. Blige; and Karen Mitchell, proprietor of Tru Indian Hair, whose celebrity clients include Lenny Kravitz and Kelly Rowland.
The five-day event would not be complete without a series of fashion fuelled parties, including the Culture and Style Welcome Pool Party from 7-11 p.m. on July 21 at Paradise Point; a Sunset White Fashion Fete featuring Grammy Award-winning drummer and V.I. native Dion Parson at
Oceana Restaurant from 7-11 p.m. on July 22. All of this will lead up to the “Global Glamour” main event on July 23, which will be immediately followed by the VIP After Party at the MCM Center. On July 24, the events will be culminated with a sailing excursion to St. John from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and the Bon Voyage Bacchanal at 8 p.m. by the Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort poolside.
