Puerto Rico Symphony at Reichhold Friday

A combination of classical and steel pan music will take the stage Friday at the Reichhold Center for the Arts when the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra plays in concert with the Superior Court Rising Stars Youth Steel Orchestra.

The show was postponed from Oct. 13 due to weather.

More than 100 performers will gather on stage as the two orchestras collaborate on musical numbers. Then each will present their individual brand of music, with the Symphony, under the direction of Chilean maestro Maximiano Valdés, concluding the evening with Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony.

Tickets are $75, $35 and $20, and are available from the Reichhold Box Office at 1-340-693-1559, the UVI Bookstore, Dockside Bookshop, Interiors in Fort Mylner, Home Again in Red Hook, and V.I. Bridal & Tuxedo in Tutu Park Mall.

Further information is available by contacting The Forum at 1-340-690-4350 or going online at http://www.theforum.vi/. The presentation is funded in part by the VI Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
