Adventure seekers can take love to new heights this Valentine’s Day with tandem skydives ahead of the STX BOOGIE skydiving festival, which officially runs from Feb. 15–22.
The festival, organized by Fyre Parachute, will bring more than 50 international skydivers, including Red Bull athletes and world record holders, to St. Croix for a week of skydiving and cultural experiences, according to the press release.
Valentine’s Day Skydives: Love in Freefall
On Friday, couples, thrill-seekers, and romantics can mark Valentine’s Day with a tandem skydive over St. Croix. Participants will experience free fall from 10,000 feet before landing on one of the island’s beaches or at Leatherback Brewing Company, depending on tide conditions, the press release stated.
Those looking for a unique way to celebrate can also use the jump for wedding proposals or vow renewals. A partnership with Leatherback Brewing Company ensures every tandem jumper will receive a free beer upon landing, the release stated.
Tandem skydives will be available throughout the festival. To sign up, visit stxboogie.com/tandem.
A First for St. Croix
Following the Valentine’s Day kickoff, STX BOOGIE will officially launch Saturday, bringing elite skydivers to the island for an event expected to boost adventure tourism, the release stated.
Fiona Horne, a local pilot and longtime St. Croix resident, played a key role in bringing the festival to the island, it said.
“I met the organizers in Egypt during an event where they were jumping over the pyramids,” Horne said. “They said, ‘We’re looking for the next secret paradise,’ and I said, ‘St. Croix!’ And here we are.”
Professional skydivers will stay at Hotel on the Cay and King Christian Hotel while participating in the event.
Tandem Skydiving for the Public
Locals and visitors will have the opportunity to experience a tandem skydive over St. Croix’s beaches and turquoise waters.

- Experience free fall at 120 mph

Watch the Skydiving Action
A special public event will be held at Leatherback Brewing Company Sunday, where spectators can watch professional skydivers land while enjoying locally brewed beer and food, the release stated.
Tandem jumps will be available from Feb. 14–19, with limited spots, it said.
