Delinquent Property Auctions Postponed Due to Inclement Weather

The Division of Real Property Tax has announced that property auctions for the St. Thomas-St. John District originally scheduled for Aug. 22-24 have been postponed due to the threat of inclement weather. The property auctions will now be held Aug. 30-31. The auction location remains unchanged, according to a press release issued Tuesday by the Office of the Lieutenant Governor.
Owners of delinquent properties are reminded that they can avoid the sale of their properties by paying their balances in full or entering into an installment arrangement. Property owners interested in making arrangements are advised to contact the Office of the Tax Collector at 776-8505 on St. Thomas, 776-6737 on St. John, 773-1105 in Christiansted or 772-0120 for the Frederiksted office. Property owners whose properties are in probate are asked to file their cases with the Recorder of Deeds Office in their district.
Delinquent property auctions on St. Croix will take place as scheduled on Aug. 29, at the Virgin Islands Cardiac Center. A list of the properties that are slated for auction and the terms of sale can be viewed at www.ltg.gov.vi.
