Henrietta Iola Browne, better known as “Iola,” Died on May 16, at Hospital Ground No. 17, St. Thomas. She was 85 years old.
She is predeceased by her mother, Pearl Bowers; and father, Thomas Browne. She is survived by he companion, Anselmo “Lip” Peters; sons:Hartwell Christian, Codroy Christian, Sr., and Randolph Scotland; daughter, Cheryl (Scotland) Vanterpool; grandchildren: Eugene Christian, Carla Christian, Catherine Christian, Codroy Christian, Jr., Delroy Christian, El-Floyd Scotland, Quinton Scotland, Marla Hodge, Prophetess Leah Vanterpool, Marcia Vanterpool, Mario Vanterpool, Sr., and Melissa Vanterpool; great-grandchildren: Imani Christian, Ajayi Christian, Jahzara Christian, Ajani Harris, Kalila Christian, Immanuel Christian, Jamal Mack, Jah’Kila Mack, Joshua Richardson, Nikia Aaron, Shawna Aaron, DoMaria Vanterpool, Mario Vanterpool Jr., Dynasty Vanterpool, Zepheon Vanterpool, Jah’Kai Bedminster, and Kamrin Anthony; special niece, Lois Browne-Lewis; as well as many other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held at 10 a.m. followed by tributes from 11:30 a.m. to noon and a funeral service at noon on Tuesday, May 29, at Memorial Moravian Church. Interment will be at Memorial Moravian Cemetery.
