Man Shot at Tutu Highrise

A 37-year-old man was shot about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in Tutu Highrise Apartments on St. Thomas, a Police Department press releases issued Thursday indicates.

The victim told police he was near Building 21 when he heard rapid gunfire and then realized he was shot. He was shot at least once in the right side of his chest.

He was taken by private vehicle to Roy L. Schneider Hospital, where he was interviewed by police. The victim did not provide any information as to suspects or motive.

Police are asking the community’s help in identifying the suspect as well as anyone who has illegal weapons in their possession.
