Iona Dawson Maduro Dies in Atlanta

Iona Dawson Maduro

Iona Dawson Maduro, a native of Brewers Bay, Tortola, and a long time resident of St. Thomas, USVI, died on Sept. 27, at the Rockdale Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.

She is survived by her husband, Ulric Maduro; daughters: Sherri Ortiz, Jewel Maduro, Tisa Maduro-Green, Kerry-Ann Maduro-Baker and Novia Maduro; sons: Ulric Maduro Jr., Getz Maduro, Mark-Kelly Maduro and Lon Maduro, and sons-in-law: Bryan Fahie and Christopher Baker. She is also survived by grandchildren: Quantez, Tylika, Damal, Amanda, Tyliko, Dominique, Dimitri, Shaelen, DeKella, Shakinah, Tianna, Terence, Gemeriah, Sasha, Kushakiniah, Ashley, Adrian, Ariel, Ijahnoah, Sapphire, Dimiani, Alyssa, Kia, Kerry-Ann, Kelly-Ann, Melanie, Jeniyjah and Shaniah; and many special relatives, friends, god-children, nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.
A memorial service will take place at 10 a.m., Friday, Oct. 9, at Christ Church Methodist, Market Square, St. Thomas.
There will be a viewing at 10 a.m. and a funeral service at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Oct. 10, at the Road Town Methodist Church. Interment will follow at the Road Town Methodist Cemetery.
