Oct. 28, 2008 – Tune into the Doug Lewis Show on WVGN 107.3 FM from 2-4 p.m., on Sunday, Nov. 2. This Sunday, we will feature music by James Taylor, Terence Martin, Dion, Stevie Wonder, Joan Baez, Eva Cassidy and more. With the time change in the States, the time for the Doug Lewis Show shifts to 2 to 4 p.m.
The Modern Music Feature CD is "Covers" by James Taylor. Taylor has recorded a CD consisting of some of the singer-songwriters favorite songs that have been recorded by other artists, including songs that were hits for Jr. Walker & the All Stars, Glen Campbell, the Temptations, Leonard Cohen and others.
The Indie Spotlight CD is "Even Trade" from the highly talented singer-songwriter Terence Martin.
We play new music from Little Feat, Joan Baez, Chick Willis, Jimmy Thackery and the Drivers, and more.
We also play music from the Rolling Stones, Dion, Don McLean, Stevie Wonder and more.
We celebrate the birthdays of Jay Black of Jay & the Americans and Dave Pegg of Fairport Convention; and we remember the immensely talented Eva Cassidy and blues- legend Mississippi John Hurt on the anniversary of their deaths.
We include music from Ruthie Foster, who will be appearing in the Arts Alive Concert Series at Tillett Gardens on Dec. 3.
We give away CDs from Canadian singer-songwriter Steve Dawson and Scottish band Bodega. We also give away the latest release from Jefferson Starship.
