Feb. 1, 2008 – Tune into the Doug Lewis Show on WVGN 107.3 FM from 2 to 4 p.m., on Sunday, Feb. 3. This Sunday we will feature music by Ringo Starr, Ann Savoy, Sting, Lyle Lovett, Joe Cocker, the Sadies and more.
The Modern Music Feature CD is "Liverpool 8" by Ringo Starr. Ringo co-wrote virtually all the songs on his new CD. He recorded it with his usual studio band, the Roundheads.
The Indie Spotlight CD is "If Dreams Come True" by Louisiana artist Ann Savoy. Ann's last release was a CD of duets recorded with Linda Ronstadt. Her new release is a solo effort with a great Louisiana music flair.
We play new music from blues band Fathead, Charles "Big Daddy" Stallings, the Laurie Morvan Band and more.
We also play songs from Lyle Lovett, Sting, David Bromberg, Joe Cocker, the Sadies and more.
We celebrate the birthdays of Dave Davies of the Kinks and folk artist Shawn Phillips, and we remember Richie Valens and Buddy Holly on the anniversary of "the day the music died," when they tragically lost their lives in a plane crash.
We give away blues CDs from Eric Lindell and John Alex Mason and a CD from Kelly Flint, lead vocalist for Dave's True Story.
Doug Lewis Show is underwritten by Hook, Line and Sinker; Molly Molones; and St. Thomas Radiology Associates.
