Rotary Sunrise Kids Triathlon Set

The 7th Annual Rotary Sunrise Kids Triathlon will be held today.  Registration will begin at 7 a.m.  Kids ages 5-15 are invited to participate as an individual or on a team of two to three people. There will be a participation trophy for the school with the most participants.

We From Upstreet Inc. Centennial Activities Committee invites the public to its next lecture, which will be presented by Dr. Lauren "Larry" Larsen, educator. She will focus on "The Educational Transformation of the Public School from Danish West Indies to the United States System.” Admission is free. Donations are appreciated.

First Vegan T-shirt Day in V.I.

To raise awareness about veganism, the Vegan Society is asking all vegans to wear any vegan/animal rights message T-shirt (button, sticker necklace, etc.) to raise awareness for the rights of animals. There will be a raw vegan potluck held today.   The first Saturday of every month is Vegan T-shirt Day!

Pistarckle Presents Musical ‘Working’

The musical “Working” is adapted from the book by Studs Terkel, with songs by Craig Carnelia, Micki Grant, Lin-Manual Miranda, Mary Rodgers and Susan Birkenhead, Stephen Schwartz and James Taylor. There will be eight performances. Play synopsis: The characters in “Working” are non-fictional. The actors deliver monologues and song, and the words in the script are those of real people taken in interviews by Studs Terkel.

Calypso Elimination Tent/ Extempo Competition

The Virgin Islands Carnival Committee (VICC) presents the 2017 Stoli – Budweiser Calypso Elimination Tent and Extempo Competition. The Calypsonians competing for a chance to dethrone the reigning Calypso Monarch “Caribbean Queen” are: John Dotty, Broc-Le, Man Chi Chi, Yellow Man, Queen Jackie, Baka, General Val, Mighty Pat, X-Man, Super T, King Kan fo Plenty, De Arc, Sarrow, Nikki Smith, De Shark, The Bloop, King Generic and Iroy. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door.

Centennial Commission Free Reception

The Virgin Islands Transfer Centennial Commission will host a free public reception. There will be cultural dancers, complimentary hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. The reception is open to the public; however, seating is limited. Tickets are being distributed at Urban Threadz (located in Havensight inside of the Buccaneer Mall). A free shuttle service will be provided from the Havensight parking lot near the Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy to the hotel lobby at 6:30 p.m.
