Water Island Music Festival

Water Island Music Festival has been moved to a new venue this year. Pianist Julian Gargiulo and his friends will appear for one-night-only.  Julian Gargiulo will be joined by trumpet maestro Joe Burgstaller, pianist Maria Yefimova, operatic soprano Rosa Bulat and the winning violinist of the “Getting to Carnegie” Competition will appear. Special this year is local musician soprano Laura Strickling. There will be other surprise guests. The concert, entitled “Bach to Brubeck,” is a mix of musical genres: jazz, classical, opera and modern pop music. You will also hear the premiere of Gargiulo’s most recent violin and piano sonata.

The event is free; a hat will be passed for contributions. Gargiulo’s musical friends have agreed to contribute their usual fees to make this event a fundraiser for two charitable organizations: Boys & Girls Clubs of St Thomas and the Water Island Search and Rescue.
