The Herman E. Moore Golf Course at the University of the Virgin Islands will be abuzz with food, fun and fellowship as the community gathers for the 28th annual Afternoon on the Green (AOTG). The theme for this year’s event, which will be open to the public and is set for noon to 5 p.m., is “A Centennial Celebration of Delicacies.” All proceeds will support the Edward E. Thomas Volunteer Scholarship Awards. The day will feature food cooked by some of the best chefs on the island; live entertainment including Cool Sessions Brass, DJ Skelly, and the Macislyn Bamboula Dancers; family fun consisting of bounce houses, face painting, balloon animals and games; and friendly competition for the best food in a variety of categories. Dishes provided by individuals or groups will be judged by the community via paper ballot or texting. Prizes will be given. Contributions to Afternoon on the Green may be made by donating a dish, volunteering or becoming a sponsor
