UVI Planetarium Event Set

The University of the Virgin Islands Planetarium invites the public to its next “UVI Astronomy Day,” which will feature UVI’s new mobile-planetarium. The UVI physics faculty and students will take visitors on a tour of the night sky and the solar system. Ample parking is available behind the UVI library. The planetarium will also have solar telescopes set up outside the library for viewing the sun as well as arts & crafts tables set up for younger visitors. Faculty will be on hand to discuss UVI and the Etelman Observatory’s contributions to the recent discovery of gravitational waves and electromagnetic radiation from a pair of colliding neutron stars.
