The St. John Recovery Choir will present a virtual Quelbe and Reggae Revival Concert that will celebrate classic reggae and quelbe music performed by local musicians. This concert will be on Zoom. Tickets are free although donations are gratefully accepted to defray the cost of a recording engineer and other tech expenses. Viewers must register by going to https://www.singstjohn.org and clicking the box for the Quelbe and Reggae Revival Concert. They will then receive a zoom link by email which will allow them to log on to the concert on April 24. Among the featured musicians is the late Mahlon “Koko” Pickering, a St. John quelbe musician who died unexpectedly last October. Other musicians included in the concert are Haile Israel (guitar/vocals), Roy “Feba” Reid (vocals) and Warren “Addis” Smith (vocals/synth). They will be accompanied by Lemuel “Beeble” Callwood on bass and keyboard as well as members of the St. John Recovery Choir.
