Medallion Auction for Veterans Set

Executive Director Levron Sarauw Sr. of the Virgin Islands Taxicab Commission will hold its annual veterans’ medallion auction. This auction is open to Virgin Islands veterans of the U.S. Armed Services only. Applications can be picked up at the commission’s office during regular working hours (8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday). Bid forms must be deposited in the bid box no later than 9 a.m. the day of the auction on St. Thomas or St. John, and two days before for St. Croix.  Applications must be taken to the Office of Veterans Affairs for verification of eligibility as a U.S. Virgin Island veteran on the island for which the bid is scheduled. Bid applicants must be present at the time of auction. The minimum acceptable is bid set at $20,000 for St. Thomas.
