The Virgin Islands Housing Authority’s (VIHA’s) Central Offices in the St. Thomas/St. John District have been closed as of Thursday, Aug. 4, after learning of potential COVID-19 exposure. The office staff has been asked to quarantine and will be working remotely. The office will reopen on Monday, Aug. 8, allowing for the sanitization of offices.
VIHA continues to enforce its limited in-person public contact policy. Additionally, employees and residents must wear face coverings and adhere to physical distancing protocols when in contact with each other and visitors. Individuals are encouraged to contact our St. Croix office at 778-8442 with inquiries relative to public housing or 473-6807 and 473-7283 for information about the Housing Choice Voucher Program.
VIHA remains committed to taking the necessary steps to ensure the safety of its residents, employees, and the public. We also urge residents, employees and the public to follow preventive measures outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. VIHA’s employees are reminded to monitor daily for COVID-19 symptoms, stay home if symptoms develop, get tested, inform the Human Resources Department, and quarantine if test results are positive.
