St. Thomas Man Arrested for Possession of Cocaine

According to U.S. Attorney Gretchen C.F. Shappert, on Saturday, Feb. 19, Tyree Morton was arrested in St. Thomas for allegedly transporting cocaine weighing in at 5.5 kilograms which included packaging from one location inside the Cyril E. King airport to another location within the airport.

Morton has been charged on his alleged possession with intent to distribute more than 500 grams of cocaine. If he is convicted, he faces a maximum of 40 years in prison.

Homeland Security Investigations is investigating the case.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Adam Sleeper is prosecuting the case.
