DOL to Make Transition to Direct Deposit; Claimants Must Make Changes Prior to Jan. 1, 2022

U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Labor

The Virgin Islands Department of Labor Commissioner (VIDOL) Gary Molloy has announced the Division of Unemployment Insurance will end printed check payments by Jan. 1, 2022. To be eligible for benefit payments, all claimants must enroll in the direct deposit payment system by registering online with MyUIclaim Portal.

All claimants will be paid benefits by direct deposit only. The DOL encourages all applicants and recipients to switch to direct deposit before Dec. 31, 2021, by visiting https://myuiclaim.vi.gov and editing respective payment information through the MyUIclaim Portal.  All individuals filing for Unemployment Benefits after Jan. 1, 2022, will be required to enter the routing number and account number of their banking institution.

Claimants can also get general information about their claims from the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system.  The IVR system can be accessed by calling 715-5744.  The claimants will need their social security number and Personal Identification Number (PIN) available to be able to access their claim information.
