STX Man Charged with Rape

The V.I. Police Department on Friday arrested police arrested 22-year-old Rahmeak Jackson of Candido Guadalupe Terrace on St. Croix and charged him with first-degree rape and first-degree assault.

According to the police the arrest occurred at about 10 p.m., Jan. 8.

Police said the victim in the incident, whose name was not released in accordance with VIPD policy, reported that the night before she had been intoxicated from consuming alcohol at a party. Jackson, who was also at the party, took advantage of the situation and sexually assaulted her. Jackson admitted to the act and was placed under arrest, police said.

Jackson’s bail was set at $100,000. He was not able to post it and was turned over to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections pending his advice of rights hearing.
