A man was treated for cuts he received to his face Sunday afternoon in an attempted robbery in a parking lot in Chrisitansted, the V.I. Police Department reported.
According to police, at 2:49 p.m. June 28, the 911 emergency call center dispatched officers to the Breezes Restaurant to investigate a robbery incident that left a male victim injured.
At the scene, officers contacted a witness who told them she and her husband had been sitting in their vehicle when the the husband got out of the vehicle to investigate a noise they heard. According to the witness, a Black male individual wearing a mask and a camouflaged shirt demanded money from them. The victim told the suspect that he did not have money, and the suspect assaulted the victim about the face with a sharp instrument.
The suspect left the area in a dark green Jeep vehicle, the witness said.
The victim was transported to the Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital where he received treatment for multiple lacerations about his face and head. He was listed in stable condition as of Monday morning.
