First Lady to Host Easter Jamboree Events for V.I. Children

First Lady of the Virgin Islands Yolanda C. Bryan

First Lady of the Virgin Islands Yolanda C. Bryan is inviting children of the Virgin Islands to enjoy “Easter Jamboree” events throughout the territory. Bryan’s team of volunteers have planned activities including Easter egg hunts, storytelling, face painting, games, entertainment and photo opportunities for the youngsters with the First Lady and the Easter Bunny.

“We are excited and ready to have wholesome fun with our children at the Easter Jamboree events. The youngsters will be enjoying games that will keep them excited and moving and demonstrate just how good for the healthy activity can be,” said the First Lady, who will soon roll out her initiative to encourage healthy families in the territory.

The fun begins on St. Thomas on Saturday, April 13, and moves to St. John on Thursday, April 18, and St. Croix on Saturday, April 20. The schedule of activities is as follows:

St. Thomas, Saturday, April 13, Franklin D. Roosevelt Memorial Park, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.: storytelling by Lt. Gov. Tregenza A. Roach, face painting, balloon animals, bounce house, Easter egg hunt and photos with the First Lady and the Easter Bunny.

St. John, Thursday, April 18, St. John Battery, 1-4 p.m.: storytelling by Lt. Governor Tregenza A. Roach, a petting zoo, Easter egg hunt, bounce house and photos with the First Lady and the Easter Bunny.

St. Croix, Saturday, April 20, Jamboree Crawl to popular St. Croix beach campsites, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Easter egg delivery, face painting, balloon animals, photos with the First Lady and the Easter Bunny.

Children must be accompanied by a chaperone over 18 years of age to participate in the fun days.
