Port Authority Meeting Postponed Due to Lack of Quorum

Wednesday’s V.I. Port Authority meeting on St. Thomas was postponed to the following week for lack of a quorum.

In the absence of Tourism commissioner-elect Joseph Boschulte, Public Works commissioner-elect Nelson Petty, Jr., acting Attorney General Joseph Ponteen and member Marvin Forbes, the VIPA board didn’t have enough voting members to do business.

Present were board members Jose A. Penn, Lee Steiner and Yvonne Thraen.

Also absent Wednesday was VIPA Executive Director David Mapp, who members said was retiring from his position on Jan. 31. A retirement “function” will be held for Mapp next Tuesday, they added.

No final meeting date was given. On the agenda was the election of new governing board officers, along with various task orders, and other board business.
