Plaskett Announces $550,000 Federal Grant From U.S. Department of Health and Human Services

Delegate to Congress Stacey E. Plaskett, ranking member on the Subcommittee on the Interior, Energy and Environment, released the following statement regarding a $550,000 grant for the Virgin Islands Department of Health:

“Today the Center for Mental Health Services announced a $550,000 grant to kick off Project LAUNCH (Linking Actions for Unmet Needs in Children’s Health) in the U.S. Virgin Islands. This important grant will benefit the youth in the Virgin Islands tremendously by promoting wellness in all aspects, including: physical, social, emotional and cognitive development of young children from birth to age 8.”

“Project LAUNCH improves and strengthens our early childhood system by providing the expertise of behavioral health providers in primary care and other local programs and providing innovative and effective prevention practices that will serve as models to be sustained in our community.”
