Body Found in Burned Car on STX’s Hamm’s Bluff

The body of an unidentified male was found Monday in a burned out vehicle in the Hamm’s Bluff area of St. Croix, the V.I. Police Department reported.

According to police, the 911 center received a call at around 10:13 a.m. Monday reporting a suspicious burned vehicle in the Hamms Bluff area . Officers responded and discovered a burned vehicle with a body inside.

Based on the identification of the vehicle the owner for the vehicle was contacted. She told officers her son had been driving her car and had not been seen since Saturday, July 14.

The VIPD Forensic Unit was unable to confirm any identification on the body. and identification is pending completion of DNA testing and an autopsy.
