Road Work to Commence Tuesday, Feb. 20, on Mandahl Road

The Virgin Islands Department of Public Works

In its ongoing efforts to repair roads severely damaged by hurricanes Irma and Maria, the Department of Public Works (DPW) will begin work on Mandahl Road (Route 42) on Tuesday, Feb. 20.

The emergency repairs will take place in the area of Tabor and Harmony, and will entail the installation of two retaining walls, drainage improvements, guardrails and paving. Traffic will be limited to one lane through the use of temporary traffic signals for the duration of the project, which is expected to last about six weeks, according to a press release issued Friday by DPW.

This project is fully funded through the Federal Highway Emergency Relief Program and is being managed by Eastern Federal Lands Highway Division.
