Viya Asks Public to Display Addresses Prominently for Quicker Wired Restoration

Viya, the leading telecommunications provider in the territory, continues to ramp-up its restoration efforts with 400 additional contractors and over 150 additional vehicles to accelerate the process.

In an effort to ensure that there are no delays to wired service restoration, Viya is requesting that customers who do not have an address on their home or business post their physical address in a location that is clearly visible from the roadway. Visible signage will make it much easier for Viya’s technical team to locate a home or business when they are restoring the area.

The telecommunications company reminds the public that restoration updates are available in local newspapers three times a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) and online at www.viya.vi/restoration. Viya’s restoration site also has pertinent information regarding the restoration of phone, Internet and Cable TV services, including answers to Frequently Asked Questions, locations of the nearest public WiFi areas and instructions for free MiFi devices (wireless personal hotspots).

Customers can also contact Viya’s representatives by calling 777-Viya (8492).

  1. HA! The restoration updates, or lack of, are a joke. I’ve been in Phase 3 for about 6 weeks now, so that means nothing. Called them today regarding a real update, and HA again.. of course they can’t provide one. They don’t know what’s going on.
If VIYA wants to be helpful they should advertise who we can call on the island to get real service.

We are closer to next hurricane season, in less than 4 months, then we are from IRMA that hit over 5 MONTHS AGO.

VIYA is a pathetic monopoly that would be out of business anywhere else in the world.
