A man was injured by a gunshot Monday evening in the GERS parking lot on St. Thomas, according to the V.I. Police Department.

The victim told officers he was in the GERS parking lot when a man walked up to him and demanded that he give him all his things. The victim said he surrendered his possessions and took off running, at which point the man fired several shots at him.

The victim was then taken into surgery for further treatment.
