As of Monday, Jan. 8, the Virgin Islands Legislature’s offices in both districts resumed normal operating hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
After a long displacement due to damages sustained during hurricanes Irma and Maria, the legislative facilities in Frederiksted have been transferred to Christiansted at the Hamilton House Building at 56 and 56A King Street and 36-C Strand Street, across from Crucian Gold, according to a press release issued Tuesday by the V.I. Legislature.
On St. Thomas, the Public Affairs and Post Audit Divisions of the Legislature have moved from 48 Kongens Gade to the old Cable Office site at 40A Norre Gade, centrally located closer to the main Capitol Building offices in Charlotte Amalie.
These work spaces, which are more convenient for the employees, will enable the V.I. Legislature to serve the needs of the community effectively, according to a press release from Senate President Jackson.
