Virtue of the Week: Cleanliness

Cleanliness means more than washing often, keeping your body clean and wearing clean clothes, although it certainly means  that. But it also is putting into your body and your mind only the things that keep you healthy. It is cleaning up mistakes and making a fresh start.

You are practicing cleanliness when you:

– Keep your body fresh and clean,

– Put things away after you use them,

– Help keep your home neat and clean,

– Put only healthful things into your body,

– Use clean language, and

– Clean up your mistakes.

Affirmation

I keep my mind and body healthy and clean. I put my things and life in order. I am willing to clean up my mistakes.

The Family Connection was established in 2005 by the Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands as an early-childhood initiative. The mission of TFC is to strengthen the community child care and early education infrastructure in the USVI by building awareness of the importance of early learning and development for success and working with community agencies to promote quality care and education.

One of its efforts is the Virtues Project, an international initiative focused on building peaceful and caring communities.

The Source supports the Virtues Project. We will publish one of the virtues developed by the project each week.
