Lawrence A. Griffith Dies

Lawrence Alphonso Griffith Sr. died.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Newton Griffith; sons: Lawrence Jr., Dwight, James, Sal and Andrew Griffith; daughters: Rosalie and Germaine Griffith; sisters: Grace Gregory, Delma Hodge, Eleanor Charles, Doreen Hendrickson, Delriace Nibbs and Judi White; brothers: Leopold and Rodney Griffith, and Dimitri Nibbs; sister-in-law:,Geri Nibbs; daughters-in-law: Cherrieca Prince Griffith, Charla Griffith, Saundra Griffith and Marie Thomas Griffith; grandsons: Quentin, Jordon, Juaquan, Malik, Sean, Sal Jr., Andrew Jr., Mikko and Segev Griffith; granddaughters: ReNeesha Thomas, ShaVon Lawrence, Kymea, Keah and Ciamya Griffith; great-grandsons: Jordon Jr., Jaydon and Josiah Griffith; special friends: Rudolph Slack, Hugo Hodge Sr. and Dalton Carty.

The only viewing will be held at the Alexander A. Farrelly Justice Complex courtyard from 5-7 p.m., Friday, March 24. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 25, at the Cathedral Church of All Saints. Burial will be at sea.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the United Negro College Fund Virgin Islands Scholarship Fund. Contributions may be mailed to UNCF, 1805 7th Street, NW, Washington, D.C. 20001. Please designate VI Scholarship on the memo line.

For on line donations, please go to UNCF.org, click donate, indicate the amount and designate the gift in memory of Lawrence A. Griffith Sr. – VI Scholarship Fund. Please identify Lawrence Griffith Jr. as the person to be notified at UNCF. All donations will be directed to the VI Scholarship Program.

Funeral arrangements are by Turnbull’s Funeral Home.
