Armed Robbers Take Cash Register at Drug Mart

Three masked men on Wednesday hit the Drug Mart store on St. Thomas, making off with the cash register and an undetermined amount of cash, the V.I. Police Department reported.

According to police, the victim, whose name was not released, told officers that at 8:04 p.m. he was exiting the rear of the store when he saw three men wearing masks enter the establishment with handguns.

The victim said that when he saw the men come in the front door he ran from the building. Moments later he saw the trio leaving the store with the cash register, which contained an undetermined amount of cash. They fled the scene in an SUV.

Police urged anyone with information about the robbery to call VIPD 340-774-2211, the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-714-9801, the 911 call center or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477.
