The body of 35-year-old Hector Torres was found Sunday night by police officers responding to a call of shots fired in Estate Profit, the V.I. Police Department reported.
It was the second homicide on St. Croix since the beginning of the year, the eighth in the territory.
According to the police, the 911 emergency center received the call at 7:59 p.m. Sunday in Estate Profit. Officers were also informed that there was a gunshot victim at the location.
At the scene the officers found an unresponsive man lying on the ground bleeding. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene by EMT staff and was later identified as Torres, who was also known as “Pollo.”
