USA TODAY, U.S. News & World Report Honor Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas

The Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas has announced it is the recent recipient of two prestigious honors: “Best Hotels in the Caribbean” from the 2017 edition of U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hotel Rankings and “Best Caribbean Resorts” in USA TODAY’S 10Best Readers’ Choice Award. The resort is the only representative from St. Thomas on both lists.

For the 10 Best Award, The Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas was nominated by a panel of experts that included editors from USA TODAY, along with 20 other hotels and resorts throughout the Caribbean. Readers then voted for their favorites for four weeks in January. The resort is the only one in the U.S. and British Virgin Islands on the top ten list.

To select winners, U.S. News & World Report identified the best hotels using methodology focused on three factors: reputation among travel experts, guest reviews and hotel class ratings. It then ranked more than 3,000 properties across the United States, Caribbean, Mexico and Canada — with the top 10 percent among the luxury segment analyzed and selected as winners.

“We’re so excited to be recognized by two distinguished publications,” said Marco Ortlam, general manager at The Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas. “It’s a testament to the incredible personalized service that our ladies and gentlemen deliver to each and every guest and is a great start to what we know will be an outstanding 2017.”

Nestled within a 30-acre beachfront estate, The Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas blends classic elegance with the traditional warmth of the Caribbean. It offers a variety of luxurious amenities including lavishly designed presidential suites and guest rooms; four distinctive ocean-front dining choices; a full-service spa; and a 53’ luxury catamaran, the Lady Lynsey.
