Monica M. Howard Dies

A funeral service will be held Saturday, Dec. 17, for Attorney Monica M. Howard Esq., who died on Nov. 28.

The first viewing will be from 5-7 p. m., Friday, Dec. 16, at Turnbull’s Funeral Home.

The second viewing will be held at 9 a. m., Saturday, Dec. 17, at Wesley Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow at 10 a.m. Internment will be in Eastern Cemetery, Smith Bay.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne D. Frett Sr.; mother, Jean I Howard; father, Leslie A. Howard Sr. (deceased); grandmother, Iona Henry; daughter, Micaela Frett; sons: Wayne D. Frett Jr. and Malachi I. Frett; stepdaughter, Shenika Frett; sisters: Barbara D. Howard and Lydia P. Payne; brothers: Major (Ret.) Leslie A. Howard Jr, Floyd (Bomba) Howard and Leon A. Howard Sr.; and aunts: Lydia (Lilia) Hendricks and Janet Venzen.

She is also survived by uncles: Lesmore Howard, Ivan Howard Jr., Roy Howard, Kenneth Howard, Richard Howard (deceased), Clayton Howard, Leroy Henry and and Stanley Fleming; great aunt, Erma B. Sewer; great uncle, Antonio Benjamin; and nieces and nephews: Keron Howard, Hannah Mathson (Howard), 1st Lt. Shenell Howard, Keron Parsons, Kyron Parsons, Letisha Payne-Lewis, Kareem Payne, JaNeeka Payne, Natasha Howard and Leon A. Howard Jr.

Other survivors include great nieces and nephews: Khaleema Parsons, Kesiah Parsons, Kamya Parsons, Kyra Parsons, James Amos Lewis, Nakia Payne and Leia Payne; sisters-in-law: O Ye Howard, Janice Frett-Challenger, Necia Frett-Myers and Mae Frett; brothers-in-law: Amos Payne, Llewellyn Parsons, Ralian Frett, Vern Frett and Troy Frett; godmothers: Joyce Francis, Leila McFarlane, Daisy Hodge and Dorothy Elskoe; godfather, Peter Francis; special cousin; Carin Charleswell-Thomas; and many other cousins too numerous to mention.
