Unidentified Firefighter Shot and Killed at Charlotte Amalie Fire Station

A senior Virgin Islands firefighter, whose name was not released Thursday by police, was shot and killed about 7:30 p.m. Thursday at or near the Emancipation Garden fire station in Charlotte Amalie. The call came in at 7:39, according to police sources.

According to police, the victim was seated outside the firehouse on a bench when an unknown person shot him in the back of the head. Emergency medical technicians arrived at the scene, found no vital signs, and declared him dead.

Senatorial candidate and former fireman and police officer Bruce Flamon was at the scene at 8:40 p.m. and verified the man’s family was already there.

The Criminal Investigation Task Force is working the case and urged anyone with information to call 340-774-2211, the 911 emergency call center, or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers VI, at 1-800-222-8477.
