Two people, a young adult and a teen, received minor injuries late Saturday when shots were fired at the Winston Raymo Basketball Court, the V.I. Police Department reported.
According to police, officers were dispatched at 12:16 a.m. Sunday to the Schneider Regional Medical Center in response to the report of gunshot injuries being treated. At the hospital they met with Ajaye Thompson, a 20-year-old resident of Bolongo Bay, and a 16-year-old male.
According to police, Thompson received a single gunshot to the palm of his left hand and the minor was grazed on his left forearm and stomach area.
Both victims told police that while in the area of the Winston Raymo Basketball Court, they heard three to four shots fired and later discovered they had been injured. Both said they did not know who fired the shots.
They were treated for their injuries released.
